Bournemouth appoint Rose as Iraola successor

Your Site' Mark McAdam looks at why Bournemouth have appointed Marco Rose as Andoni Iraola's successor.

Smart appointment? Why Rose is ideal replacement for Iraola

Marco Rose comes with pedigree from the Bundesliga but most importantly, brings an aggressive brand of football that not only fits Bournemouth but made Andoni Iraola an admirer long ago, explains Your Site' Adam Bate.

An example of a smart appointment

Bournemouth appoint Rose as Iraola successor

Bournemouth have appointed Marco Rose as Andoni Iraola's successor.

Rose will officially take charge in the summer on a three-year contract, but the deal has been made to allow both the new boss and club to plan for next season after Iraola confirmed he would be leaving the club.

'Man Utd keeping close eye on Real Madrid's Tchouameni'

Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, according to the Telegraph.

The report suggests the 26-year-old is among the midfield options being considered alongside the likes of Elliot Anderson, as interest in Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali recedes.

Tchouameni had been linked to a move to Old Trafford before he moved to Real in 2022.

The France international reportedly has two years left on his current deal at the Bernabeu.

Why Bernardo is the emblem of Man City's title charge

Bernardo Silva is leaving Manchester City this summer. But he's got a duty to fulfil before that. And he's doing it magnificently:

Rosenior: I have '100 per cent' support from Chelsea hierarchy

Under-pressure Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior says he "100 per cent" feels the support of the club's hierarchy.

Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United means Chelsea have lost four league games in a row without scoring for the first time in 28 years.

Their dreadful run of form has left their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread, raising questions over Rosenior's future.

When asked whether he felt the board's support ahead of Tuesday's game at Brighton, live on Your Site, he replied: One hundred per cent. Theyve been supportive of me in our daily conversations.

Sporting directors involved, theyve been magnificent in their support of me and the team.

Were aligned that we know that we need to win games of football in the now. That doesnt go against what were trying to do is to give consistent success to this club long term.

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali said last week the club

Asked about those comments, Rosenior responded: I can assure you weve had many conversations from when I joined in January about what this club needs now and in the future for us to be where we want to be.

"Behdad made it very clear in his conference he wants consistent trophies and success for this football club. Thats what weve spoken about in the now and in the summer and how we build.

"Were all very, very aligned and very clear in what we need to do, what we want to do and what w

Rosenior feels support of 'magnificent' owners but admits Chelsea must win matches

Forrest wants to stay at Celtic

James Forrest does not want to play for anyone other than Celtic but he is happy to focus on winning a double ahead of contract talks.

The 34-year-old again showed his worth with a key role off the bench as Celtic beat St Mirren 6-2 to reach the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup final.

Forrest skipped past a defender and delivered a perfect cross for Kelechi Iheanacho to put Celtic back in front after Saints had come from two goals down to force extra time.

The winger is Celtics most decorated player with 26 major winners medals to his name. He does not want to stop there but is focused on the next two.

I spoke to the club a couple of times, but the main thing Ive always said is Ive been here my full career and I dont want to play anywhere else, he said.

The main thing now is helping the team hopefully win the league and were in the cup final as well.

So Ive made it clear that the main thing is about contributing for the team and then my situation will sort itself out.

Konate close to agreeing new Liverpool contract

Ibrahima Konate is close to agreeing a renewal of his contract and boost Liverpools summer transfer plans.

For months the future of the France centre-back, whose current deal expires in June, has been the subject of speculation with him having been linked to Real Madrid earlier in the season.

But Konate suggested he indicated to club officials at the start of the campaign he was inclined to sign a new contract and, after months of uncertainty, that now appears to have finally come to fruition.

My future? To be fair, there are many things people have said but for a long time we have spoken with the club and we are close to an agreement, said the 26-year-old after the 2-1 Merseyside derby win at Everton.

I think everyone wished for that for as long as possible but we are in a good way. For sure there is a big chance Im here next season. This is what I always wanted.

Im waiting to sort the contract but when everything is sorted you will have to ask Richard (Hughes, Liverpools sporting director) what I said to him in September, November and hes going to say something to make everyone quiet.

It was a tough year and I think if everyone knew exactly what happened to me, they could understand many things, which kind of sacrifices Ive done for this club.

Right now we focus on the end of the season and make sure we are qualified for the Champions League and after we (can) take the time to talk about the season because its going to be a big part of my story and its sad in one part (his father died in January).

Extending Konates stay will avoid the immediate need for Liverpool to go in search of a centre-back signing.

Rennes Jeremy Jacquet arrives in the summer after a 60million deal was done for the 20-year-old in January and Giovanni Leoni, 19, will return from an ACL injury sustained on his debut in September.

Joe Gomez has a year remaining on his deal but could be one of the players to leave after another difficult campaign with injuries but that would still leave four centre-backs, with captain Van Dijk entering the final 12 months of his contract.

It would allow resources to be used to strengthen elsewhere with possibly two forwards, a midfielder and potentially another left-back more of a priority.

'Fernandes set to stay at Old Trafford this summer'

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is set to stay at Old Trafford this summer, according to reports.

Fernandes was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer and rumours have continued to swirl throughout his record breaking season this term.

The playmaker has previously said that "I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go," and has a year left on his current contract, which does include the option to extend for a further season.

However, according to The Sun, should United qualify for the Champions League next summer, Fernandes is likely to stay at the club.

Team-mate Senne Lammens has also said he believes his skipper wants to remain at the club and has his sights set on bringing the first Premier League title to Old Trafford since 2013.

"I think, because he wants to win Champions Leagues and he wants to win the Premier League, so thats what hes thinking about and thats what tries to give us as well," he said.

"Hes very demanding of course. But he also knows that in the Premier League, in the way we are, you can win and lose some games."
